We just returned from a trip to Canada, visiting Toronto, Niagara, Quebec City and Montreal. We had a great time and Yoann and his team did a great job setting up our trip. We had a lot of questions about how to spend our time and he was very helpful and responsive to requests and emails. The WOW Moment he arranged at the Peller Estates Winery was excellent! Thank you all for the experience! The restaurant did an excellent job with the special menu, and everything was great!
Using the train to get around Canada was a good idea. The VIA rail trains were excellent, convenient, and close to our hotels. We flew from Toronto City airport to Quebec City which was fun. You have to go on a ferry to get to the airport, which was strange (a 2-minute ride) but we enjoyed it, Quebec City was great, and the Food Tour was a particularly great time. The tour guide knew a lot about the food AND covered many things that we had not heard about from our other guide. In fact, the private Food Tour in Quebec City was our favorite thing about the trip!
Hotels as a whole were very good, the Le Germaine hotels in Toronto and Montreal had beautiful rooms and good locations for getting around. The Fairmont Chateaux Frontenac in Quebec City was beautiful and a great location, but room was tiny, and the hotel was crowded all the time. Can’t blame Yoann for that as I specifically requested to stay there and even with the hassles, I still think it is the best place to stay in Quebec City. We liked our day trip to Niagara Falls, don’t think you need more than 1 day there, it’s too touristy. We probably could have spent a day in Toronto since we didn’t really see anything there, but I don’t think I missed anything. Quebec City was 4 days, and I think that is about right to get in the sights and do everything you want to do. We only spent 2 days in Montreal and probably should have added one more day for a food or market tour.
It was a short trip for our standards but we enjoyed it and look forward to working with you all again on our next adventure.
Our recent trip to Montreal and Quebec City exceeded our expectations. We travel frequently, but this was our first time using a travel planner. Our planner Yoann did an excellent job and made everything so much easier for us. We were provided with outstanding tour guides (Laura in Montreal and Sarah in Quebec), which gave us a perspective we would never have had on our own. Even the private drivers we had were fun, informative and very helpful. We were looking for some unique adventures on this trip, and Yoann was able to provide us with a helicopter and a sea plane to make the trip even more memorable.
We were very happy with the tour guides Yoann booked for us. He was responsive and easy to deal with. I especially liked the fact that when he could not book a “good” guide for a Quebec tour (because our cruise ship had already booked them) he leveled with me rather than just booking just anyone.
Wendy’s recommendation of Yoann Ronsin for our exploration of Quebec was spot-on. From the initial conversation with Yoann, I knew we were in excellent hands. My husband and I knew we wanted to spend our 24th anniversary in Montreal, but ten days was too much. Yoann listened to our likes, dislikes, hopes and dreams and curated a perfect ten-day trip with stays in Quebec City, La Malbaie, and ending in Montreal. He meticulously planned tours and whale watching with just the right amount of down time.
In Quebec City, Yoann went above and beyond finding not only the perfect hotel, but the right class of room, with the view on club level. He thought of every detail a couple might want in celebration of their anniversary. Yoann took all the stress and unknowns out of our travel experience. All we had to do was follow his detailed plan and it was perfect.
It started with the cordial driver at the airport, who went out of his way to drive us by the lovely parliament building and point out things of historical interest along the way to our hotel. Then the perfect guide, Marie, taught us to play the “Spoons,” recommended local businesses and restaurants, and gave us a real feel of what life in Quebec City is like—not just the tourist tour. Unfortunately, due to an emergency back home, our trip was suddenly cut short. Again, Yoann, was amazing. He was available and ready to help us in any way he could. And man, I can’t imagine not having him on our team during this crisis. He cancelled our future room reservations, our tours and guides without our request. He allowed us the ability to focus on getting home, and taking care of our crisis at hand—he took care of the rest—like a true friend, not just a travel agent.
Yoann even followed up a few days after we got home to make sure all was well. We WILL go back to Quebec to finish out our trip in the future, and of course, Wendy and Yoann will be our first call.
